Casper College Basketball Team Welcomes New Coach Ty Larson

Casper College's men's basketball team begins a new era in 2026, with new head coach Douglas' own Ty Larson, and the coach is chomping at the bit to get rolling. Later this month, there are boys' basketball camps at Casper College: June 22-24 for grades 3-8 and June 25 for high schoolers.

Coach Larson was an all-state football and basketball player in high school who went on to play at Eastern Wyoming College, but began his coaching career with teams like the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the Texas Longhorns, and, most recently, the Arizona Wildcats.

Since arriving at Casper College, coach Larson's D-I experience has helped recruit and secure players for the 2026-2027 season, and the team is coming together with some great signings. There are two returners from last season, and the coach secured players from Wyoming and Montana, but there's also a D-I player from Ball State transferring in, and ballers are coming to town from all over the country, as well as international players from Australia and the Congo.

The first time many of the U.S. players will get together will be during the camp week, and your young basketball players can witness it in person if they attend.

Coach Larson's excited to get the players together and be a part of the camp.

We're making a very concerted effort to try to get them all here for that week so they can get to spend some time with each other. Be visible in the community with the kids at camp; hopefully, that will lead to a great turnout at our games. It's a mission of mine to be very involved in the community.

The Youth Basketball Camp is designed for boys in grades 3–8 to master the fundamentals of the game. Led by new Head Coach Ty Larson and the Casper College coaching staff, campers will develop shooting, ball handling, and defensive skills through high-energy drills and team play.

Grades 3-5, Mon.-Wed., June 22-24, 10 a.m.-Noon
Grades 6-8, Mon.-Wed., June 22-24, 1-3 p.m.

The High School Camp is an intensive camp that mirrors a collegiate practice environment. Led by Head Coach Ty Larson, participants will focus on advanced offensive concepts, defensive intensity, and specialized skill work.
