The first day of school will be here before you know it.
As an ex-first-grade teacher and a mother with 5 children, I've had my fair share of experience transitioning from Summer to Back School time.
Over the years I have learned that there are definitely some things that parents can do to help their children to have a more successful start to the school year.
And, while some of them take more time than others to implement, trust me when I say it will definitely pay off in the end.

As a side note, make sure you have your older kids work on writing and coloring too.
They'll likely be writing papers and doing lots of worksheets within the first few days of school, and that can be hard for them too after a Summertime spent playing outside or sitting inside playing video games.
