As the kids head back to school, now is a great time to remind everyone that there is a serious need in our community. Too many Wyoming children are living in poverty, lack access to quality child care, and many don’t graduate from high school.

The seventh annual Casper Step Up for Kids Day features speakers who will discuss the value of stepping up for the youth in our community and explain how we as a whole can advocate for policies that maintain and improve investment in Wyoming’s children.

The public is invited to this year’s event at the Nicolaysen Art Museum on Tuesday, September 16th. Refreshments will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. with speeches starting at Noon. Keri Owen, with Natrona County Prevention Coalition and Mercer Family Resource Center, is serving as the event coordinator as well as emcee at the event.

Speakers include:
• Lisa Cormier, Big Brothers Big Sisters
• Greta Hinderliter, Natrona County School District
• Youth Speaker to share a personal story about the impact advocating has had on his life.

Lunch will be provided by Isabel Mena of Casper for up to 75 attendees.
