District: Natrona County Schools Open Monday; No Buses to Midwest [UPDATED]
UPDATE (7:33 a.m. Monday)
I-25 north of Casper has reopened, with 'no unnecessary travel' advisories for the Kaycee area.
Original Story:
The Natrona County School District announced early Monday that schools are open despite travel concerns and road closures.
And while there will be no bus transportation to or from Midwest School, the school is open and classes would be held Monday.
Specific questions about after-school activities should be directed to the individual school.
I-25 between Casper and Kaycee remained closed in both directions Monday, while the southbound lanes between Buffalo and Kaycee were closed as well. Outer Drive in Casper was also closed, as was Casper Mountain Road.
"As always, the primary responsibility in protecting a child's health and school attendance resides with the parent or guardian," district spokeswoman Tanya Southerland said in Monday's announcement. "If you choose to keep your child home, please contact the school to inform them. Thank you."
Also closed were WY 387 between Midwest and Pine Tree Junction, and WY 192 between Kaycee and WY 387.
