This summer will be action-packed with all of the high-profile tours going on in country music. One of the most anticipated treks, however, is Rascal Flatts‘ American Band Tour, also featuring Eli Young BandLittle Big Town and Edens Edge.

The all-bands tour is set to kick off on June 15 in Connecticut and run through September. Of course, the fans are already fired up, as are the guys in the Eli Young Band!

“It’s funny, because all the other acts on the bill have some sort of relationship with Rascal Flatts, but we’ve never really crossed paths with them,” EYB’s drummer, Chris Thompson, tells Taste of Country. “[During Country Radio Seminar] we got to meet them and hang out. We more excited about that tour now after meeting them because after 15 minutes of hanging out with them, it’s like ok … this is going to work. We all got along and we’re the same kind of people. It would really suck to be out on tour with someone for four months who you really don’t like or who you can’t get along with [laughs]!”

It’s a known fact that the Rascal Flatts guys love to play golf almost as much as they love making music night after night. So will Eli Young Band be hitting the green with the trio? “Hopefully by the Rascal Flatts tour I can get confident enough to play with them,” EYB’s bassist Jon Jones admits, smiling. “I know they’re all about it!”

Those who can’t wait until June to see the Eli Young Band in concert can catch them on the road with Dierks Bentley on his Country and Cold Cans Tour. Click here for a full list of dates where the Eli Young Band will be this year.
