The Northwest region of Washington, Oregon as well as Idaho have been working together to try and save migratory fish populations. Fish that bring in sportsmen and help local economies, like salmon and steelhead, their plan involves removing older dams and restoring unimpeded river flows to their natural state.

In the process, they've been breaching dams and creating some awesome footage of the explosions and the aftermath.

On October 26th of last year, the state of Washington along with the Army Corp of Engineers set the charges and blew a hole in the bottom of the Condit Dam on the White Salmon River.  Watch this incredible time lapse video of the dam being breached and how quickly the river reclaims its natural flow.
