FACT: Evel Knievel Action Figure was the BEST TOY EVER

There are some things I believe which I recognize are just my opinion. But, in this case I believe I can state a fact. The Evel Knievel action figure was the best toy ever.

I was a child of the 70's. I still remember seeing this commercial on TV for the first time.

For reference, Evel Knievel was my hero. I watched every single jump on ABC's Wide World of Sports back in the day. I remember when he tried to jump the Snake River Canyon in 1974 and I watched his big crash at Wembley Stadium in London the year after that.

When I learned that Evel had his own action figure, I had to have one. Thanks to my gullible parents, I ended up with this epic toy. As you can see in the classic commercial, Evel came with his own motorcycle and wind up launch thingy. I can't remember exactly how many things I tried to jump my Evel Knievel action figure over, but it was a lot.

My Evel Knievel doll action figure met its end much the way the real guy did - a big crash. I tried to jump Evel over a creek that was down the street from the house I grew up in. My Evel Knievel doll action figure made it about halfway across, but crashed into the rocks at the bottom on the far side breaking off the motorcycle wheel in the process. (*sad face*)

You might think your fancy iPad, XBox or Playstation is a fun device, but it is no Evel Knievel action figure. For my generation, this was the best toy ever and that's a fact.
