Bring The Family To Yesness Pond For Free Fishing Fun
Saturday, June 7, could be the day your kid decides whether or not they love fishing. It's Free Fishing Day in Wyoming and Kids Fishing Day at Yesness Pond in Casper.
The annual event, hosted by the Casper Community Recreation Foundation and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, offers families the opportunity to spend time outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and fishing with a fishing pole in hand.

They'll learn to bait a hook, cast a reel, fly-cast from Trout Unlimited, remove the fish, and even prepare it for the frying pan. To get Yesness ready for the big day, WGFD has stocked the pond with over 1,500 trout.
Registration for the event begins at 9 a.m. North Platte Walleye Unlimited has donated fishing poles for the kids, and multiple organizations have donated items for the free goodie bags. The bags are sponsored by Visit Casper, Wagner's Outdoor Outfitters, and the Casper Recreation Division.
The first 100 kids to catch a fish will receive a special shirt donated by Wyld Gear, Target, Walmart, and Peden's Inc.
If you're going to bring your kids to fish, be prepared to stay with them the entire time they're fishing. This isn't a free babysitting day; it's a free fishing day, and each child needs to have adult supervision.
Dress for the weather, as the forecast calls for lots of sun accompanying a cool morning and warming to the upper 70s by early afternoon. Natrona County Health Department will provide sunscreen and first-aid supplies, Pepsi will offer hydration for everyone, and R & R Rest Stops will provide bathrooms.
Don't forget to mark your calendar and get out and enjoy FREE FISHING Day.
