Every summer, the stories from Yellowstone National Park are the same.

If a person gets too close to a bison, the bison tosses the person ten feet into the air, and the vacation now includes a trip to the hospital.

People are curious; they're there to see these animals and to have the experience of a lifetime.

One family has the story of a lifetime. Luckily, it doesn't have a tragic hospital trip ending, but it sure could have.

Instagram user Shon Ray (rayten0) captured the video of a young family walking on a trail when a bison began pursuing the daughter.

After watching the video, it looks like the family was where they were supposed to be; it just happened to be in an area where bison mingled and crossed said path.

The poor girl was running for her life, and the bison was in hot pursuit. The bison was approaching from the other side when she came around the tree. Thankfully, the bison stopped, almost as if the bull realized the person he was pursuing was a young child.

You can hear the girl's parents telling her to stand still and move closer to the tree, and then the bison turns around and trots past another group of people.

The @touronsofnationalparks Instagram page shared the video and added some advice.

Try to keep at least 25 yards from the bison, especially during the bison rut!

❌Be bison aware post❌

If a bison has his tail up it usually means:

1) He has to use the restroom

OR

2) He is about to kick your A$$

Gtfo there‼️ ‍♂️ ‍♀️
