Hank Williams Jr Pulled From Monday Night Football Last Night [VIDEO]
For the first time in 20 years, last nights broadcast of Monday Night Football was started without the Emmy Award winning song "All My Rowdy Friends" by Hank Williams Jr. During a broadcast of Fox And Friends Monday morning Williams was asked to weigh in on the Republican stable of Presidential candidates. After replying that he liked 'NONE' of the current candidates he brought up the recent golf outing by House Speaker John Boener and President Obama calling it a terrible mistake and likening it to Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu. See the exchange here.
In a statement ESPN said "While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast." It is unknown if this is a temporary or a permanent banishment.
