The Wyoming State Fair is proud to announce that Hunter Hayes, the Country Music Association’s best New Artist, is set to perform at the Wyoming State Fair on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wyoming State Fair Grandstands.

Recently, Hayes has been rocketing up the country music charts since the release of his debut album titled Hunter Hayes. On the album, Hayes wrote or co-wrote all of the songs, co-produced it, sings the vocals and plays all of the 30-some instruments heard on the record.

“Hunter Hayes is one of the most talented and best up and coming acts in country music today,” said James Goodrich, director of the Wyoming State Fair. “We’re excited to continue the momentum we built with the 100th by bringing one of country music’s rising stars to the Wyoming State Fair.”

Since the release of Hunter Hayes, the singer-songwriter has appeared a multitude of TV shows including the Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the Ellen DeGeneres Show and the ABC-TV special The CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock and many others.

Along with this, Hayes was awarded the Best New Artist single and Best New Artist Video at the American Country Awards and has also picked up a Teen Choice Award as the Male Country Artist of the Year, earned a number one video with “Wanted,” and won a BMI songwriting award for “Storm Warning.”

“Hayes has already achieved a great amount of critical acclaim for his music in his short career and his fan base continues to grow across the country,” said Goodrich. “We couldn't be happier that Hunter Hayes be performing at the Wyoming State Fair and will help make the 101st an event to remember.”

The Wyoming State Fair is a showcase of Wyoming agriculture and industries. Stationed in Douglas, Wyoming since 1905, the State Fair also represents Wyoming heritage and culture with a focus on education, competition, and entertainment for all ages.
