The Shrine Bowl teams can sense that their moment to shine is coming up soon. The showdown is Saturday at 2 pm at Natrona County High School in Casper, and the South team has been hard at work all week.

The South has a good stable of wide-outs led by Star Valley's Bryson Nield, who led 3A in receiving yardage with 1283 and caught 13 touchdown passes. He also returned 2 kick-offs for TD's and a punt return for a score. Nield was named All-State in 3A as a specialist and played a big role in the Braves' State Championships over the course of the last two seasons. He also played basketball and ran track for Star Valley, so he was a busy guy.

Lyman's Max Gregory has been a tackling machine for the last two seasons. He was All-State in 2A with 112 tackles, 68 solo, with 4 sacks. He rang up 120 tackles from his middle linebacker spot as a junior with a whopping 24 tackles for loss. Gregory also made it to the top of the podium in 3A wrestling by winning the 215-pound State Championship and finished with a record of 36-6.

Both Nield and Gregory shared some thoughts about Shrine Bowl week and the road ahead. We also have a few frames from this afternoon's South practice in our gallery below.
