Meet Cathy Carr, Candidate For Natrona County Commission
In Natrona County, Wyoming, Cathy Carr is running for County Commissioner. She was good enough to join Wyoming's morning radio talk host Glenn Woods to talk about why she is running.
Carr spent most of her life living and working in Natrona County. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in accounting. That led her to a job in the oil and gas industries, where she has spent over 30 years. She is married, and they have one son.
She is not new to the political scene.
Carr has served on the Natrona County Public Library Board of Trustees since July 2020. She is on the Citizens’ Transportation Advisory Commission for the City of Casper. The republican party found it handy to have an accountant, so she is the treasurer for the Natrona County Republican Party, as well as a precinct committee member.
You can listen to her interview in the audio file below.
"I never really thought of myself as someone who would run for office," she writes on her Facebook Page, "but with the first term of President Trump and the reminder that this country is built on "We the People," it reminded me that each one of us has the ability to help shape the world around us; we just have to stand up and take that chance."
You'll find Cathy at Casper's Politics in the Park, where she engages with anyone in her district whom she can talk to.
Politics in the Park is a weekly summer series hosted by the Natrona County Republican Women and the Natrona County Republican Party. Folks are invited to gather at the bandstand in Washington Park to hear and meet the candidates.
