Blinking lights from emergency vehicles in the cute little town of Buffalo, Wyoming?

That doesn't happen often.

It's even more bizarre when it's by the local baseball field, where local folks are about to gather for a game against Sheridan.

The Saturday before Easter, the local team's dugout was mostly demolished by a car that ran off the road and right through it.

Nobody was hurt.

Above is a shot of the vehicle that smashed through the dugout.

The little road behind the baseball field has a slow speed limit.

That left folks wondering what had happened.

We don't know the answer to that yet.

The game was a doubleheader, and they played it as if nothing had happened.

Though the Buffalo team had to sit outside.

Thankfully, it was a nice, cool day, and they had shade trees.

Looking at the damage, it seems as if it won't take much to repair the dugout.

It's just cinderblocks and a simple wooden roof with some tin on top.

The folks of Buffalo will quickly raise the needed money, and repairs will be made, if not a new dugout altogether.

That makes a person wonder how long the old dugouts had been standing there.

We will let you know what caused the accident when the cause is released.

In case you are wondering, the Buffalo Bulls lost in the worst possible way. Sheridan dominated them.

Reading The Past - Chugwater Wyoming Newspaper

These pages of the old Chugwter Wyoming newspaper show us coverage of the region from back in the 1940s.

There was little local news, other than the war.

But what was published at the time was important to the people of the area.

It was, in most case, the only news they had from outside their little ranch or town.
