Wyoming Missed Saying Goodbye To Toby Keith

A great country singer has passed. He was far too young.

Toby Keith, who had No. 1 country hits like “Who’s Your Daddy?” "Beer For My Horses," and “Made in America” a major Nashville star, died on Monday.

He was only 62.

He passed “peacefully” surrounded by his family.

Toby had announced back in 2022 that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Just a year before his cancer announcement Toby Keith was meant to perform in Wyoming.

He was scheduled to appeared at the Ford Wyoming Center. On October 17, 2021. The concert was canceled for undisclosed reasons.

Scheduled along with him were Colt Ford and Chancey Williams.

Chancey Williams was a Wyoming-born and bred singer.

In his career, Toby Keith put out country hits like "Should've Been A Cowboy" and "As Good As I Once Was". More recently he wrote “Don’t Let The Old Man In,” a song based on a conversation he had with Clint Eastwood and was later featured in Eastwood’s movie, “The Mule.”

Any Wyoming audience would go crazy for “Red Solo Cup.”

Little did Wyoming know they wouldn't get to see Toby Keith in The Cowboy State before his passing. It was not long before he was diagnosed and was in treatment.
