A
dog owned by a well-known Cheyenne resident is up for consideration as ''America's Favorite Pet."
Rick Coppinger is a long-time Cheyenne resident who has been active in local politics for years, including campaigns for Mayor of Cheyenne. He describes his favorite pooch, Amai, this way:
More About Amai Coppinger
"AMAI is a Pomapoo from Pennsylvania. She is a very docile, loving dog with a fun demeanor. She is only 3 years old."
Coppinger explains how Amai became a member of the family:\
"We traveled to VA for my sons cancer surgery, my wife want a companion for our Shitzu/Maltese. While she waited at the Hospital with my son I drove to Pennsylvania Amish country and picked her up."
So what is a pomapoo, anyway? According to the website "Daily Paws," a pomapoo is a cross between a Pomeranian and a toy poodle.
If Amai wins she will be featured on the cover of ''Modern Dog'' magazine, and will win $10,000, Making her a really, really, really good girl! She's currently in 14th place. You can vote for her here
In case you are wondering about the name, Amai is Japanese for precious. Win or lose, we're pretty sure she deserves that description!
