According to a fatality crash summary, a Dodge Grand Caravan entered Exit 68 on I-25 southbound at a high rate of speed, despite the exit having a posted recommended speed limit of 25 miles per hour.

"The vehicle continued past the exit ramp and collided with a guardrail, becoming airborne and eventually landing at the bottom of an embankment in the grassy gore, where it rolled once before coming to rest on its roof," the summary reads.

Sadly, Larry Pendleton, who was not wearing his seat belt, did not survive the crash.

Numerous Factors Possibly to Blame

The summary lists speed, driver inattention, and a possible medical condition as possible contributing factors.

Pendleton is the 64th reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year and the seventh reported person to die in a crash on I-25 in Wyoming this year.
