Laramie County Sheriff Investigating Shooting Death

A spokesman for the Laramie County Sheriff's Office says a juvenile was taken into custody on March 7th in connection with the shooting death of a 41-year-old woman.

Brandon Warner says deputies were called to the 2300 block of Pine Avenue at 12:47 p.m. on March 7 on a report of a woman who had been shot in the head. Warner says when deputies got there, they found the woman unconscious, but still breathing. She had suffered a bullet wound to the back of the head that was clearly visible.

The victim was rushed to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center before being life flighted to UC Health in Fort Collins. Sadly, the woman has died from her injuries.

The Investigation Is Ongoing

A juvenile was taken into custody at the scene. The release goes on to say

"The investigation remains active, and further details regarding charges or the identity of the involved parties are being withheld at this time due to the age of the suspect and the sensitive nature of the case.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. There is no ongoing threat to public safety."
