Kelly Walsh all-state swimmer Chayse Schierkolk has chosen the University of Wyoming to continue her athletic journey. She recently competed in the 4A State Swimming and Diving Meet in Gillette and took the gold medal in the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter freestyle. Her time in the 50 free was 23.99 and she clocked in at 52.01 and both of those were personal bests. Schierkolk also was on the state championship 200 freestyle relay that set a school record. Her 400-meter free relay placed 2nd in Gillette, so no wonder she was named the Athlete of the Meet and Athlete of the Year in 4A swimming.

In her junior year, Schierkolk was the 4A state champ in the 50 freestyle in 52.45 and also took the podium in the 100 free with a time of 52.45. Her 200-meter free relay team took 2nd at State and her 400-meter free relay placed 3rd. In her sophomore season, Schierkolk was the state champion in the 100 free in 53.26, the 2nd in the 50 free in 24.13 and her 200 free relay placed 3rd and the 400 free relay team took 4th.

She plans on studying agriculture at UW and started swimming when she was 18 months old
