The National Weather Service has again revised upward its expectation for snow accumulation in the Casper area, with snowfall expected to begin late Thursday night.

Casper is now likely to see five to nine inches of snowfall, with periods of heavy snow possible, according to a winter storm watch revised early Thursday.

The watch, set to be in effect from late Thursday night through late Friday night, also includes lower elevations within Natrona County.

The NWS warns travel could be very difficult, with hazardous conditions potentially impacting morning or evening commutes.

A cold front was set to pass through the area Thursday, followed by precipitation and colder air. Rain is expected to turn to snow late Thursday, with significant snowfall possible across areas of central and southern Wyoming into Friday.
