With the excitement of Christmas in full swing, it's easy to forget that we have hundreds of seniors and shut ins, in our community that will be on their own this Christmas.

And Meals on Wheels of Natrona County is in need of volunteers to spend just a little time delivering a few meals to people in need in Casper on Christmas Day.

The recent harsh winter weather has left many seniors in central Wyoming isolated and stuck in their homes. Many of these seniors are able to attend regular church services or socialize with neighbors or friends, especially without help and yet even more in our community have no one to lend a hand at all.

Each year the number of people helped by Meals on Wheels grows and without this help, many of those receiving meals wouldn't be able to make it on their own.  Meals on wheels of Natrona County, serves the elderly, ill and at-risk citizens over the age of 60 in Casper and the surrounding area.

Not only is the delivery of food important, but so is the comradery that comes with a friendly face and brief conversations that truly brighten these seniors lives when these meals arrive each day.

How can you help?  If you're free on Christmas day and wouldn't mind giving a little of your time, please contact Meals on Wheels and let them know that you'd like to help as a volunteer.

In fact, why not start a new Christmas tradition this year for you and your family and truly celebrate the spirit of the season by helping others with this simple gift this year.

Merry Christmas to you and your family from all of us!!
