I believe in giving credit when credit is due. That is exactly what I'm gonna do here. There were snow plows on my Casper side street today and I am truly grateful.

You could practically hear the angels in Heaven singing as I embraced the reality that my Casper side street had been treated by the city's plows

After the latest round of storms, it's no secret that many of our side streets are treacherous. The city of Casper plow crews do a stellar job getting the main routes clear, but veer off one of the main drags and you never quite know what you'll be up against.

After skating back to my house last night (almost quite literally), I decided this morning that I would call the city's snow route hotline and request that they consider salting/sanding two side streets that I have to frequent. I called 307-235-8283 and got the automated message. I have to admit that I left the street addresses, but didn't really expect much as I know the plows are still busy in many parts of the city.

It wasn't more than a few minutes after I left the message that my wife messaged me and said "Hey, there are two plows that just went down our street!". You could practically hear the angels in Heaven singing as I embraced the reality that my Casper side street had been treated by the city's plows. I may or may not have shed a tear. I'm not telling.

I promptly got back on the phone and called the city snow route phone number and thanked the very kind lady that answered the phone. They get lots of complaints, but figured they didn't get thank you calls back very much. She seemed to very much appreciate it.

I am now living proof that you can call 307-235-8283 and request that the city of Casper take a look at your side street to consider having it plowed or treated. They paid attention to me and I'm pretty much a nobody.
