A Natrona County man denied shooting at and trying to run over a woman with a Jeep in late June.

Lloyd Thompson appeared in Natrona County District Court Friday and pleaded not guilty to three charges of aggravated assault for events that allegedly occurred June 30.

Aggravated assault is punishable but up to 10 years behind bars, a $10,000 fine or both.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a witness called 911 after she saw Thompson in a Jeep following the victim and begging her to get in.

Eventually, Thompson took a gun from the vehicle, pointed at the victim and fired. He missed the woman, court documents say.

The victim then tried to leave the home and was walking alongside a highway when she heard Thompson get into a Jeep and start chasing her, the affidavit alleges.

According to the affidavit, Thompson told the alleged victim if she didn't stop walking she was "going to get a couple rounds." Shortly after, he fired his gun in her general direction, the affidavit says.

Thompson was also initially charged with sexual assault, but that was dropped.
