New Map Compares Wyoming’s Favorite Curse Words [WARNING: LANGUAGE NSFW]
The Great American Word Mapper is a site that compares the most commonly used words posted on social media sites across the country.
The terms aren't necessarily the most popular words; instead they reflect the ratio of use for those words in a particular state or region. For example, most people here in Wyoming have "dinner", while folks in Alabama prefer to call it "supper".
Which begs a dirty question. Which curse words to Wyoming pottymouths utter more than profane people in other parts of the country?
According to the map, the most disproportionately used curse word in the Cowboy State is....Douche or Douchebag.
Of the ten most popular so-called 'dirty' words used on social media, "Douche" or "Douchebag" is more commonly posted in nearly every corner of Wyoming compared to other states.
The "C-word" (used to describe male anatomy) is also one of Wyoming's most widespread terms.
With a heavy prevalence of use in the northern part of the state, "Darn" ranks among the most commonly posted words in the Cowboy State.
The map also indicates that "A-hole" is a popular term for social media users in eastern Wyoming, while "Crap" is a favorite among users in the western part of the state.
The "P-word" (used to describe urinating) is inordinately used througout parts of central Wyoming.
Interestly enough, the four most popular curse words in America, the "F-word", the "S-word", the "B-word" and "Damn", were less commonly used in Wyoming.
