We've had a rash of domestic violence incidents in the forefront recently. A good place to start would be in the NFL...ie Ray Rice, Greg Hardy and Adrian Peterson to spotlight some national cases.

We also have a problem here at home. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and the Self Help Center is preparing for their yearly candlelight vigil. The vigil is done in remembrance of those we've lost to domestic violence, unfortunately there will be two new victim silhouettes this year, Natalie Miller and Anna Davis.

The vigil will be held on Friday, October 10th at 6pm at the First Interstate Plaza on the corner of South Center and First streets.

Purple is the color of domestic violence, so if you plan on going to the vigil, please wear purple to show your support and stand up for victims of domestic violence.
