What a weekend for crazy travels in Colorado.

While the weather here in Northern Colorado didn't seem to be too bad - at least in Weld County - a little further south and east, it got really bad as about 50 cars were involved in two separate pileups on I-25 on Sunday.

It was a complete and utter disaster as various parts of I-25 were completely shut down for hours after icy and whiteout conditions caused multiple accidents.

Colorado State Patrol reported the first reported closures around 4 pm which was surprising to me as that was the exact time we were traveling to my son's hockey practice in Greeley from Severance and we didn't have anything to deal with other than a few flurries flying around in the air. Certainly nothing like this...

The brunt of the weather just missed us here in Northern Colorado for the most part as not only did I-25 Denver and South see lots of accidents and closures, so did I-70 out in the Eastern Plains as well as further West in the high country.

Some snow is expected to continue in various areas Monday morning before finally clearing out later this afternoon.
