Join Paws With A Purpose In Casper To Help Families And Service Dogs

In Casper, you don't have to look hard to find an opportunity to help others.

This coming weekend, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there is a chance for you to help the Alliance for Attachment-Injured Families and raise money for the A Paw to Hold service dog scholarship program at Ragnar Defense during the Paws with a Purpose open house and fundraiser.

A Paw to Hold is a partnership between Alliance for Attachment-Injured Families and Ragnar Defense that provides access to highly trained service dogs that can provide emotional support for adoptive families raising kids with emotional, behavioral, and attachment issues.

If you've ever looked into getting a service dog, you know it's not cheap because of all the training, time, and dedication it takes to ensure the animal is trained to help in many ways. Typically, it costs around $12,000, and in some cases, even more. AAIF scholarships cover $6,000 to $10,000 of that cost.

The open house and fundraiser this weekend will be at Ragnar Defense (2060 Fairgrounds Rd in Casper) and will be a day full of fun, food, vendors, beer from Stahoo's Brewery and Taproom, a silent auction, entertainment, and raffles. Plus, you'll have a chance to tour the Ragnar Defense facility; there will be dog demonstrations, flash tattoos by Samantha Ryan with The Forbidden Forest, and face painting by Merrily the Clown.
