A man was found dead outside his Casper home Tuesday morning after evidently having gone out to shovel his walks Monday night.

Sgt. Mike Ogden of the Casper Police Department says officers responded to the 1500 block of Fetterman shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Ogden said the deceased person is an older man. An age and name have not been released, pending notification of the man's family.

Ogden says that, based on the initial observations of responding officers, frigid temperatures may have played a role in the man's death.

At this point, Ogden says, there's nothing suspicious about the death. However, responding officers still treat the area where the man was found as a crime scene.

The Natrona County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy, Ogden says.
