Riverside Wins 1st Volleyball Title in School History

Out of all the teams in the State Volleyball Tournament, Riverside showed the most fortitude and perseverance by winning the 1A championship in 5 grueling sets over Southeast on Saturday in Casper. Riverside lost the first 2 sets 25-23 and 25-17, then rallied to win the next 2 sets 25-22 and 25-16. In the 5th and deciding set, the Rebels were down 14-10 so Southeast was one point away from winning the match. Riverside then proceeded to win the next 6 points to take the set 16-14 and also take home a championship trophy in volleyball for the very first time.

Both of these teams played in the 2A ranks last season and Riverside returned a couple of two-time all-state players in Caroline Schlattmann and Vaidyn Vanderploeg. The Rebels made last year's state tournament and finished this season with a record of 32-5.

Southeast had a returning all-state player too in Brenna Herring and was ranked #1 for a good portion of the 2022 season. the Cyclones posted 27 wins this year with 6 losses.
