Bad things could happen to Wyoming's vast public lands, and if it happens, it will threaten your Wyoming way of life when it comes to the state's public land.

It's a scary thought to consider that the federal government might ever consider selling any of it, but that's a possibility, and it's up to us to prevent that from happening.

On June 11, Senator Mike Lee from Utah released a draft of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee's introduced bill language that would allow the sale of up to 3 million acres of federally maintained land.

Even though the plan was blocked, Sen. Lee vowed to go back to the drawing board and rewrite the proposal.

Backcountry Hunters and Anglers is one of the organizations working overtime to ensure this doesn't happen with the United We Stand for Public Lands campaign. As a part of the campaign, they're organizing "Flood the Lines Day" on Wednesday, June 25.

The goal for the day is to receive at least 25,000 calls in protest of the sale of public lands, and they're pretty confident they can achieve it. To date, they've already received 66,000 calls and messages since the campaign began, with up to 10,000 in a single day.

If you're concerned about the potential sale of public lands, we encourage you to research the proposed sale and its possible implications for Wyoming.

As shown on the map on wilderness.org, the sale of public lands in Wyoming could have a significant impact.
