Advanced Drone Tech Used in Search for Missing Natrona County Boy
The search for an autistic Natrona County teen missing since Sunday afternoon has entered its fourth day.
Wednesday afternoon, the Natrona County Sheriff's Office gave an update stating that crews will continue to use fresh dog teams to aid in the search for 16-year-old Joseph Peterson.
"Some of the most advanced drone technology available" is also being used to help locate Peterson. The drones can be manually operated or independently fly pre-programmed flight patterns. They can also discern colors and see through brush.
Peterson was first reported missing at roughly noon on Sunday. Sheriff's officials say Peterson is autistic and does not problem-solve at an age-appropriate level.
He lives in the area of Hat Six and Goose Creek roads in southeastern Natrona County.
