Sheridan’s Black Tooth Brewing To Open New Cheyenne Taproom
One of Wyoming's biggest breweries is expanding with a new location in downtown Cheyenne. The Sheridan-based Black Tooth Brewing Company is planning to open a new brewhouse and taproom this fall in the former Pioneer Printing Building downtown.
"Our bread is buttered by being a Wyoming brand and a Wyoming company, and we’ve always been proud of that,” Black Tooth owner Tim Barnes told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle. “The logical step is to be in the capital for a company that is a Wyoming brand.”
A second location in Cheyenne will give Black Tooth even more room to grow.
"It's been a pretty meteoric rise," Barns recalled. "We opened the doors in November of 2010 in Sheridan. We had a very small distribution footprint, just Sheridan, Gillette, and Casper. We put in a 30,000 barrel brewhouse in July of 2015 and expanded to the entire state of Wyoming, as well Montana, South Dakota, and Nebraska. It's a pretty hectic game to be in, but we're winning."
Barnes says the Cheyenne brewery will be similar to their original location in Sheridan, occupying just over 8,000 square feet and housing a 10,000 barrel brewery and taproom. The venue will also feature a stage for live music.
Construction inside the historic building on 514 W. 19th Street in Cheyenne's West Edge development will begin soon. Barnes hopes the new Cheyenne location will be ready in time to celebrate Black Tooth's 9th anniversary on November 1st.
