The National Weather Service has issued a weather forecast for today and Saturday that is more like a fall forecast than summer. A strong Canadian cold front is moving south across the region this morning bringing with it strong winds, patchy fog and some light rain. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop along the front through early afternoon. This front brings a very chilly air mass which will take low temperatures early Saturday morning to near freezing west of Interstate 25 where some frost is possible.

Frost Advisory in place tonight for Albany and Carbon counties in Southeast Wyoming. Low temperatures early Saturday morning will drop down to 32 to 35 degrees with isolated areas below freezing. Widespread frost is expected to develop over these areas, and sensitive vegetation will likely be harmed if not protected. People with gardens need to cover plants, or bring them indoors.

Snow levels for the Big Horn Mountains as well as the Snowy Range are expected to be between 8500 and 9000 ft with minor accumulations possible. Roadways are only expected to be wet as freezing temps are not expected to last long.
