Fire Restrictions

Officials with Yellowstone National Park have advised that the parkwide fire danger level for the park is "very high and Stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect."

More of Wyoming will be under a fire restriction beginning Friday.

Stage 1 fire restrictions will take effect in parts of eastern and central Wyoming beginning Tuesday.

The BLM still maintains year-round restrictions on using fireworks and tracer ammunition on the land it manages.

Some BLM-administered lands also may have other fire restrictions.

The BLM imposed partial fire restrictions on the four counties last week.

The BLM also has partial fire restrictions in place for its lands in Sheridan, Johnson, Campbell, Weston, Crook and Niobrara Counties.

Dry conditions and high fire danger are prompting the restrictions.

These restrictions are in addition to year-round restrictions about fireworks and other wildfire prevention measures on BLM and other federal lands.

The BLM has year-round restrictions including discharge or use of any fireworks, and discharge of a firearm using incendiary or tracer ammunition.

Violation of this Fire Prevention Order is punishable by a fine of not more than $100,000, or imprisonment of not more than 12 months, or both.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management's Casper Field Office is removing the partial fire restrictions imposed in early August because of recent moisture and lessening fire dangers, according to a news release.
