Lee Ann Womack fans are going to be pleased to know the singer has announced the release of her next album, her first release in nearly seven years.

Lee Ann Womack has a new recording home and a new album in the works!

Today (May 9), Lee Ann Womack headed to Washington, D.C. to partake in the Centennial First Ladies Luncheon to be held at the Washington Hilton. Womack, who is currently working away on a new album in Nashville, was glad to step away from the studio for the prestigious honor.

Lee Ann Womack is best known for her traditional country music style that often discuss subjects such as cheating and lost love. Her 2000 single, "I Hope You Dance" was a major crossover music hit, reaching #1 on the Billboard Country Chart and the Top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her signature song.

It’s been a few years since Lee Ann Womack had an album to promote, but she’s finally ready to get back in the studio and record some new music for her fans. Womack, whose last release was 2008′s Grammy-nominated ‘There’s More Where That Came From,’ announced her return during her appearance at George Jones‘ recent 80th birthday party.
