The small towns along routes with heavy through traffic have limited resources in terms of parking, fuel, hotel rooms, and other amenities.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol recently announced that they had pulled over a semi truck for for exceeding the posted speed limit by over 20 miles an hour in an area that was known to be extremely slick and dangerous.

More snow is coming.

There is a black ice advisory as of 6:30 a.m. between Glenrock and Casper, and between Waltman and Casper.

While there's no closures at this hour, road conditions are high impact in and around the Casper-area.

The advisory covers most of Natrona County and is in effect from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Thursday will bring snow accumulations to south-central, southeast, east-central and central Wyoming, impacting I-80 and I-25.

US 287 is closed between Rawlins and Lamont, with the same estimated reopening time.
