Taylor Swift Becomes a ‘Cat Lady’

As you can probably imagine, it gets pretty lonely out on the road, away from family, friends and other loved ones. That’s why Taylor Swift decided that she needed a new roommate — a tiny baby kitten which she named Meredith.

“Hanging out with my new roommate, Meredith,” Swift tweeted Thursday, along with the instagram photo of her fuzzy bunkmate. Not only did Meredith’s photo get thousands of ‘likes,’ but it got the attention of the 21-year-old singer’s pop music friend Katy Perry, as well.

“OH MY GOSH. Is this kitty for real?!?!” Perry tweeted back, unable to handle the cuteness. Swift promptly responded that her pint-sized friend was even chasing her own tail at the time of tweet, making us all melt just a little more — as if the picture wasn’t enough.

We hope that Meredith provides quality company for Swift, as her Speak Now Tour is scheduled to continue rolling through the end of the month. On Saturday (Nov. 5), the singer will find herself in Houston, Texas performing to a sea of fans in the city’s baseball stadium, Minute Maid Park.
