Public Cell Phone Conversations -- Because the human brain likes things to be predictable, hearing half a conversation makes the human brain fritz out. It just can't ignore the person yapping on the phone because it can't figure out the full story.

Road Rage -- When driving a car, we humans consider our vehicles a part of our territorial space. So when someone cuts us off, we instinctively react as if someone had run into us on the street and then ignored us completely.

People Acting Like Jerks -- People actually act like jerks and ignore others because of "urban overload." We have to wade through thousands of potential social interactions every day.
