Three Winter Activities in Yellowstone You Need to Try

It's Winter in Wyoming and we all know that it's going to be here for another 3 months (if not longer).

My advice, if you can't beat 'em, join them!

Many Wyomingites have never made it to Yellowstone, and their number one reason was "the tourists". Well, now is your time to cross a visit to Yellowstone off your bucket list. For obvious reasons, the number of tourists in Yellowstone dwindles in the Winter, and because YOU are sturdy Wyoming stock, the cold and wind won't bother you a bit!

Here are three Winter activities in Yellowstone that you need to try.

Snowmobiling in Yellowstone

Technically you can go on an unguided snowmobile tour in Yellowstone, but some of these guided tours look amazing! I went snowmobiling there many years ago and I'll never forget the beauty of watching swans swim in thermal pools, surrounded by snow and frost covered trees. Nothing is more awe-inspiring than coming across a herd of grazing buffalo and inching slowly past as they flick their tails and dig through the snow for food.

Yellowstone Snow Coach Tour

There are a variety of companies in the Yellowstone area that offer Snow Coach Tours. For those of you that aren't big fans of the cold, this is the way to go! Basically, you get to ride around Yellowstone in a jacked up super swanky van, cozy warm and comfortable, while a tour guide entertains you with interesting Yellowstone facts.

Snowshoe Tour Through Yellowstone

Our regular listeners know that I am a huge snowshoer. I can be found almost every week snowshoeing on the Nordic Trails up on Casper Mountain, and I am so excited to see that you can now snowshoe through Yellowstone! This tour is around three hours long and takes you on a leisurely walk along the Firehole River, you're sure to spot some amazing wildlife and get some great photos on this one.
