A tornado in Platte and Goshen counties Tuesday produced winds as high as 130 mph, the National Weather Service said Wednesday.

According to the weather service's office in Cheyenne, a supercell developed late afternoon Tuesday roughly 10 miles north of Fort Laramie. A tornado warning was issued at 3:08 p.m. after an emergency manager in Platte County reported seeing a tornado two miles south of Hartville.

Just before 3:20 p.m., a storm chaser reported seeing the tornado eight miles east of Guernsey. VIdeos also showed a multi-vortex tornado.

After surveying the area, the weather service estimated the storm's peak wind speed to be 130 mph. No one was injured, according to the preliminary statement.

Goshen County emergency managers were not immediately available.
