Yellowstone National Park crews resumed the search Friday morning for a man missing since Wednesday near the north entrance, according to a news release.

Park staff initiated the search for Jeff Murphy, 53, from Batavia, Ill., on Thursday.

Friday, eight hiking teams, five dog teams, four horse teams, and a helicopter resumed the search.

Murphy was last seen at the Rescue Creek Trailhead near the north entrance at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Park officials closed Rescue Creek Trail on Thursday.

He intended to hike to Turkey Pen Peak.

The news release describes Murphy as 5-feet, 11-inches tall, and weighs 190 pounds.

He may be wearing a gray jacket with a royal blue collar, khaki pants, a yellow t-shirt, navy pullover and an army green backpack. He wears glasses.
