Could Wyoming Embrace Naked Gardening Despite The Weather?
You know, many times, Wyoming gets left off of lists that I feel that we should be on. Sometimes, we're on lists that we probably shouldn't be on.
The list I found, I think we'll be pretty happy that we're not on it.
With World Naked Gardening Day coming up on May 3, Lawn Starter put out a list of the best cities in the U.S. for gardening naked. Wyoming was one of the few states to be excluded from the list.
I know this may seem odd, but most of the Top 25 on the list are mostly below the Mason-Dixon line in warm-weather states like Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Florida.

It totally makes sense. On May 3 in Wyoming, it could be snowy, cold, windy, and uncomfortable for people wearing clothes, let alone those wearing their birthday suits.
Our neighboring states that did make the list all had multiple cities on it.
- Colorado
- Idaho
- Montana
- Nebraska
- North Dakota
- Utah
Although, just because we're not on the list, it doesn't mean you can't participate. If you do, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.
Tips for participating in World Naked Gardening Day.
- Stay away from Roses or any other plant with thorns or needles. No clothes = No protection
- Steer clear of bees. Again, no clothes = No protection.
- Avoid using power tools such as chainsaws or trimmers.
- Put on sunblock. You don't want to get a sunburn on your sensitive parts.
- Stay away from the community gardens.
- It's okay to wear shoes and gloves to protect your feet and hands from injury.
