The Wyoming Eclipse Festival wants volunteers to help the thousands of visitors expected to see the total eclipse of the sun in Casper in August.

Volunteers will offer information, roam the streets to guide the sun-seekers, and assist people at the shuttle stops from Aug. 18 to 21-- the day of the eclipse, according to a news release from festival organizers.
“The residents of Casper are proud of their community and Wyoming lifestyle," said Anna Wilcox, executive director of the Wyoming Eclipse Festival. "We are excited to offer a great opportunity for the community to share that pride by getting personally involved in the eclipse viewer’s experience.”

Festival organizers will conduct an information and training session in early August. The session will include a tourism ambassador certification through the Casper Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“The eclipse presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give thousands of visitors a warm Casper welcome and to showcase not only our tourism assets, but the best of our entire community,” shares Brook Kreder, CEO of the bureau.

Organizers are looking for volunteers for these jobs:

Information Booth: Volunteers will offer guides, maps and information about the activities and events.
Event Ambassador: Volunteers will walk along East Second Street downtown with the information found at the booths. They will welcome visitors, answer questions or direct them to the closest information booth.

Shuttle Stop Attendant: Volunteers will ensure visitors are waiting in a safe area, assist the driver and keep in contact with the shuttle manager if problems arise.

The Wyoming Eclipse Festival is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to facilitate the organization of the events happening in Casper from Aug. 17-21.
