The premise for the new thriller movie, The Hunt, is nothing new, but it does look very interesting and full of action. What makes the trailer even better, one of the main fictional characters is from Wyoming.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) listed the following synopsis on the film:

Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don't know where they are, or how they got there. They don't know they've been chosen - for a very specific purpose - The Hunt.

I was less than 5 seconds into the trailer before I was hooked, but the entire plot did seem familiar. Two action movies from the 90's immediately came to mind:

All three films are about people hunting other people. After doing a little homework, I quickly found that all three movies are loosely based on the 1924 short story (and 1932 film of the same name): The Most Dangerous Game.

While I'm sure The Hunt won't win any awards, if you like action, horror, violence and a little gore, this movie has it all. If it's even half as good as the trailer, it should do well in theaters.

I just hope the Wyoming lady doesn't die first.

*One of my favorite actors and probably the first person to play Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Green Arrow) on Smallville, Justin Hartley, is also one of the main characters in the film. That's just another thumbs up for me to see this one.*
