Wyoming Is One Of The Best States For UFO Sightings
Wyoming is the best state for a lot of things.
Wide-open sky and gorgeous views.
Wonderfully kind people.
The world's largest population of Pronghorn Antelope...I could go on and on.
But, did you know that Wyoming is one of the bests states for UFO sightings?
Before we dive deeper into this topic let's define what a UFO is.
According to Wikipedia Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) is the popular term for any aerial phenomenon that cannot immediately be identified. Most UFOs are eventually identified (after an investigation) as conventional objects or natural phenomena. The term is commonly used for claimed observations of extraterrestrial/alien spacecraft.
In a recently published article on SatelliteInternet.com Wyoming slid into the top 10 list of states where you are most likely to spot a UFO.
We ranked number 9 with 327 sightings.
As I looked a bit closer at the chart I noticed that Arizona (they ranked 10 on the list) had 4,028 sightings.
Following Doc's good journalistic example I took a closer look and saw that SatelliteInternet.com ranked states by the number of sightings per 100,000 people.
So, even though we had fever sightings, we have a smaller population so it ends up being an average of more sightings per person.
I have to admit, I was a bit surprised that we were right behind New Mexico on the list.
After all, Roswell is thought by many to be THE spot for Aliens to hang out. Even today, many people still believe that the government and the military are covering up the truth about alien landings at and around Roswell.
In case you're wondering, Washington was in the number one spot and Texas was in last place.
Perhaps it's those aforementioned wide open spaces or simply the lack of light pollution we have here in Wyoming that allows us to spot a few more UFOs than other states.
Whatever it is, maybe take a few extra moments tonight to gaze up at the star-filled Wyoming skies.
Chances are pretty high that you'll see a UFO.
