It's happening, and there's nothing Wyomingites can do about it. Sam's Club is eliminating checkout and self-checkout lanes.

Changes Coming To Wyoming Sam's Clubs.

The scan-and-go system will prevail at the membership warehoues giant, and it's not going to make some Wyoming shoppers happy.

The scan-and-go system was introduced last spring, and for the previous few months, a Sam's club in Texas has been using AI to verify purchases before customers leave the store.

The new system will require shoppers to scan the items they plan to buy when they place them in their cart. Once they scan the item, the system will log the purchase and charge them immediately.

The system was designed to streamline the shopping experience and shorten the time spend in the store. Currently there are two Sam's Club locations in Wyoming, one in Cheyenne and one in Casper.

At this time, there's no date for when the changes will go into action.

Not all customers are happy about the changes.

Hearing complaints from shoppers at stores around Casper, such as Walmart, many customers will likely have issues with the new technology. Some comments on Sam's Club's Facebook page indicate that some customers are unhappy about the changes.

Some Customers Not Happy About Upcoming Changes At Sam's

I'm not sure about the scan-and-go system, but I do enjoy using self-checkout. If you're a Sam's shopper, what are your thoughts? Will this change your opinion about shopping at the store? What are your thoughts about continuing to pay the membership fee, and not having a choice of your check out options?
