Wyoming (18-9, 7-9 MW) hit .231 on the day but it was the defense that foiled the Cowgirls Saturday. UNLV (17-11, 9-7 MW) recorded 10 more digs than the Cowgirls and out-blocked UW 5-4 in the contest. Both teams registered six aces on the day.

The Cowgirl middle blockers carried the offense in the loss as Tierney Barlow and Sarah Holcomb led the way with nine and eight kills, respectively. Barlow hit .571 in the match while Holcomb hit .533. Holcomb also was tied for the team lead, along with Corin Carruth, with three total blocks.

Kasia Partyka led the way with 24 assists and five digs against UNLV. Skylar Erickson, Sierra Grizzle and Rylee Schulz had four digs each. Barlow and Schulz both had two aces to pace the Cowgirls in that category.

UW now shifts its focus to the final regular season week of the season, trying to fight its way into the Mountain West Tournament. The Cowgirls host a pair of home contests this upcoming week to close.

The week begins with a 6:30 p.m., first serve against Air Force.
