Wyoming’s Wingard Named a Top Returning Player for 2018
Wyoming safety Andrew Wingard has made the list of the top 25 players returning to college football for the 2018 season.
Wingard is a two-time First Team All-Mountain West honoree. He finished second on the team in tackles with 114 last season. Wingard had 70 unassisted tackles and 44 assists. Among those were eight tackles for loss and one sack. He also led the Cowboys with five interceptions. In addition, he broke up three other passes, forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble.
In a recent article from CBSSports.com, Wingard was ranked No. 20 among the top 25 returning players to college football next season. In fact, he was graded by Pro Football Focus as the top returning safety with rankings in the top 10 for both run support and pass coverage.
Wingard has started every game since he was a freshman. He is presently one of eight returning starters the Wyoming defense has for the upcoming 2018 season.
