In a short amount of time, all of the entrances to Yellowstone National Park will open, and cars, trucks, vans, and RVs will be streaming through the gates on their way to their vacation adventures. Not everyone gets the chance to visit the park whenever they want, unlike most of us here in Wyoming. Just because we have the opportunity doesn't mean we will visit regularly.

So, what if you want to see what's happening in the park, but can't be there? Thanks to technology, you can visit virtually from the comfort of your couch. The park is equipped with multiple web cameras that show you what's happening at any time, day or night, in Yellowstone.

It's really not that often that you get to see what's creeping around in the middle of the night or what's happening when the park is closed, but with these cameras, you can. There's a live streaming camera that is always pointed at Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin. You can watch eruptions, bison interruptions, and when there are tourists roaming around, you can watch them too.

Also, there are multiple static cameras that update every couple of minutes.

These cameras are located:

North Entrance - Out of the Park

North Entrance - Electric Peak

Mammoth Hot Springs - Traverite Terraces

Mount Washburn - Noreastern View

Mount Washburn - Southern View

West Entrance - Out of the Park

West Entrance - Into the Park

East Entrance - Out of the Park

East Entrance - Into the park

These cameras are really cool when you're looking to kill a little time during the day. Now, obviously, there's not much going on in the park since they're preparing for the upcoming summer season, but it's still cool to keep an eye on things.

The cameras are possible thanks to a grant from Canon USA, Inc. to Yellowstone Forever.
