Last week I got the privilege of conducting one of my rare interviews...and it was cool. You may remember I did a post and included my conversation with childrens author, advocate, and educator Susan R. Stoltz. And, I did more than that! Like a true investigative journalist, I followed up. I actually made the trip to the Glenrock public library to listen to Susan speak with the youngsters, and formally introduce myself to Sharkey the Jack Russell Terrier. I'm sure both were absolutely thrilled.

To refresh your memory, Susan is a columist with the Glenrock Bird, has lived in the Douglas area, and has written a series of childrens books starring her dog, Sharkey, and other animal friends.  These books deal with sensitive issues facing our children such as bullying and diversity, and bring them down to a level that our kids can all understand. She also has some unique life experiences such as spending her formative years in American Samoa, and being the sister of Hollywood Heavyweight, Eric Stoltz. It was a real pleasure getting to meet both Susan and Sharkey and to learn more of her own fascinating story.
